anyone know why ecto prices have dropped so much over the past day ? the traders are now selling them for 10k and giving you only 7.5k for them .. is there some ecto stash been found or something ? off the back of a lorry .... who knows.

It goes naturally between 10-11k at the trader. Has been this for awhile..Its not going irregularly down.

and why are you so mad that more people can afford to get some?

and keys are dropping more frequently as well as black dyes i think

Goes naturally between 10k-11k at trader? Where have you been? A week ago, it was going between 14k - 15k :P

Personally though, I don't mind the sudden decreased in price. Makes FoW armor that much more affordable :P

im guessing it will go back up because i have noticed the Monstrous eyes because i keep my eyes on all the rare materials and they have gone up 100 gold everyday, which is odd seeing as how the fangs and claws have gone down. All depends on how much people buy from the merchant, the more people buy the higher the prices go. Which means when ecto prices were at 13k people started buying from other people in game and didnt buy from merchant. When this happens naturally you lower your prices so people buy. Thats how the economy works, so people probably are still not buying from the trader therefor your prices will not go up. The rare material traders prices can only go down pending on how many people buy from him.

That must have just been for a second then, like a price spike. :\

I've been watching them for over a week (since around SoA axe nerf times), and I havent noticed any surprising or sudden extreme changes in price..

for months it has been between 13k- 16k to buy before the axe.

you do realize that Anet is controlling the economy by increasing/decreasing the frequency at which the rare materials drop.....just stack them while they are dropping frequently and sell them when they aren't.

this is a pretty basic economic practice

I do regular UW runs and I don't really notice any difference in drops. They're not dropping more frequently than normal. I still average about one per run.

The price drop is probably because more people are jumping on the SS/SV necro two man trend, and increasing the supply of ectos again back to where the supply was before the AoE nerf when monks would solo UW and keep the supply high.

My UW partner always says, we find 2 Ectos average on a 40 minutes run, so the price for an ecto will be what you earn in 40 minutes elona farming, around 8k.

And why should a drop in the price for ecto be bad? So i can afford my FoW armor much earlier

just got done FoW and there was tons of rare drops. One guy in my group got 3 shards. I think drop rate increased so prices decrease.

ive noticed the price drop and an icrease in drops. the last couple of days they have been dropping more frequent. last night 3 dropped in a matter of minutes. ive also noticed a huge increase in dye drops in the UW. now i have more than enough to get my armor and extra to sell but since they are cheap im just gonna hold on to them until they go back up
